From Summer Intensive to SEM to BBT

What can just 1 summer at Neglia do for your ballet journey?

Here’s a summer reflection from student Zoe de Torres Curth, who has been accepted to Bossov Ballet Theatre  for the fall of 2020.

Zoe first came to Neglia from Argentina for a Summer Intensive in 2018. She then enrolled in Buffalo Seminary School (SEM) so she could be in Buffalo for high school academics and ballet training at Neglia Ballet.

“The Summer Intensive at Neglia Ballet was definitely a wonderful experience. I remember the first day (that was also my first day at the studios) being filled of amazement towards everything. I had looked up the teachers online before the intensive began and I thought to myself: “Wow, I’m going to be learning from them!”

My expectations were definitely exceeded: not only they were awesome teachers, but they genuinely cared for you, both as a student and as a dancer. Because they were from all around the world, it showed me a whole new side of dance that I hadn’t seen before. Each class was both challenging and really fun. I learned to be more open to what someone is teaching me and to life in general. I also made great friends, both from my home-country, Argentina, and from other parts of the world. Sharing class with them made the whole experience so much better!

The summer intensive helped me to broaden my horizons, expand my knowledge of dance, and ultimately, it was the reason I came to study at Neglia for two years. Definitely a nurturing experience in every area and one that I will hold very dear to me."
