Meet Your Teachers: Jennifer Golonka, Weeks 3, 5

Every summer Neglia Ballet prides itself on engaging dynamic guest artists and teachers to train and inspire our students. Summer 2020 is no exception! We have a great line-up of teachers who will be in residence at our TriMain studios from June 29 - July 31, 2020.

Buffalo NY native and long time NYC resident, Jennifer Golonka is a professional dancer, choreographer and award winning dance educator. She has danced with the Jessica Lang Project, Hannah Khan Dance Company, Third Law Dance/Theater and Thang Dao Dance Company. Jennifer also performed with Battleworks Dance Company, Take Dance Company, Camille A. Brown and Dancers, Peter Chu’s CHU This, Darrell Grand Moultrie and Nicholas Villeneuve. Her work has recently been presented in Zurich Switzerland, Phoenix Arizona, Brooklyn NY, Los Angeles and San Diego, California. As a dance educator Jennifer spends much of her time teaching and creating at dance studios, high schools for the performing arts and Universities around the country. She has recently created works for the University of Colorado at Boulder, University at Buffalo, Stony Brook University, the symphony Strings on Mountain, Cincinnati Ballet Summer Intensive and was a guest choreographer for the Pacific Arts Dance Center’s The Nutcracker and the White Wave Dance Festival in Brooklyn, NY.

Ms. Golonka was on faculty at Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp for 13 years, ending her tenure as Director of Dance. She is a Teaching Artist for Arts Connection (NYC) and was featured in the January 2014 issue of Dance Teacher Magazine for her work with this organization. She is the recipient of the Janklow Award, naming her 2015’s Teaching Artist of the year. In 2013 her work Gone To The Unseen was presented at the NYCDAF Gala: Destiny Rising at the Joyce Theater in New York. Jennifer is thrilled to return for her third summer at Neglia Ballet Summer Intensive.
